Got a pretty strong wifi point just sitting at one of the international departure gates. There's plenty of cafe/food stops nearby with sparse yet adequate power, but gate seating is abound with power outlets.
VPN access is fine. For some reason, I'm unable to FTP or SSH to get some real work in since I'm stuck at PVG for a 5-hour layover.
