After going through to the airport's gates there are around two to four 'desks' with powerpoints, privacy screens and comfy seats for laptop users between every couple of gates. The wi-fi connection in here was excellent, reasonably priced and it was great to sit at a proper desk instead of precariously balancing my laptop on my knee while the battery slowly runs down.

The wi-fi connection came up straight away at speeds of around 11Mbps and costs 5euros for half an hour over the Swisscom mobile network. Although I could not see any available powerpoints there are plenty of seats and tables within the cafes and restaurants.

I wasn't there for long enough to find, much less try, the wi-fi set up but there's a handy cafe (by the smoking area, but not affected by it) before you go through security that has one table with plug sockets next to it on the edge of the seating area which we used to quickly charge laptops and phones for the flight. The Orange data network was down but mobile phone coverage was good. Important tip: once you get through security there is nothing on the other side - you go straight through to the gates, so don't rely on being productive there.

In the A pier there are quite useful PC stations with power, a chair and a desk. Those work nicely as does the cubicles in the Lufthansa lounge and most chairs in the Swiss Business lounge., In other areas, like the B piers, power outlets and Internet access leaves more to whish for.
