The wi-fi is provided by T-Mobile but works well while mobile coverage is fine. The clam chowder at one of the restaurants is to be recommended as well... My ratings reflect that. It's all T-mobile pay by the hour WiFi ($10, as I recall), but there is 802.11 a/b/g with huge signal strength. I use the 11a because nobody else does. I do sympathise with those who think the whole airport should have free WiFi -- just like my other home town of Mountain View (thank you, Google). Lounge comfort good; power access good. Cost free, couldn't be better. No LAN access in Lounge. Concourse & Lounge have good strong mobile signal. Concourse comfort not so good, building work going on (April 2007) short on seating and power points. Concourse access is public before security so doesn't feel as safe. No free wi-fi access. If you are at the gate there is no wi-fi connectivity at all. Ironically there were powerpoints everywhere! Unless you are watching a DVD and need to keep your laptop battery charged....why would anyone even boot up their laptop if there was no internet connectivity. In the domestic terminal the only wi-fi access I am aware of comes from T-Mobile which is a for pay service. I just don't end up on their Network enough to justify paying a monthly fee. WiFi is no better than a dozen other underperforming airports about the world and in terms of power points - don't! Because two major UK departures (VS020 and BA284 leaving 30 mins apart) are crammed into a (I guess) 500-seat departure lounge with a choice of 3 packed and uninspiring (overpriced) eateries, you're lucky if you can get a seat let alone a seat near a powerpoint., However, SFO has one great thing going for it., If you've any important last minute work to do - do it at the hotel.
